I am always interested in the history and culture of my homeland, as well as those of foreign countries. I would like to share my enthusiasm for the region around Lake Constance with you.

City tour Bregenz

Bregenz is my home town. It lies on the eastern shore of the beautiful Lake Constance.

The provincial capital of Vorarlberg is famous for its cultural institutions, such as the Kunsthaus, the vorarlbergmuseum or the Bregenz Festival.
Also, the lakeside promenade with its harbour on the shores of Lake Constance, and the medieval upper town of Bregenz, have their own special charm.

A round trip in the Bregenz Bay with the Vorarlberg Lines is also a great experience.

Extensions and variants for the city tour Bregenz

The city tour in Bregenz can be combined with:

  • City tour in Lindau
  • Cruise on Lake Constance
  • Cable car to Pfänder

City tour Bregenz including Pfänder

The Pfänder is one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains on Lake Constance. This is the local mountain of the citizens of Bregenz and offers a magnificent view of Lake Constance with Bregenz and Lindau, as well as the Rhine Valley and the Alps.

On the Pfänder there is a small alpine wildlife park with a pleasant, easily walked circular hiking trail.

Baroque in Bregenz

From Roman times to the Baroque period

The baroque style, which is particularly widespread on Lake Constance, was developed in Italy and came across the Alps to this region around 1600. Baroque marked a welcome new beginning after the horrors of the Thirty Years’ War.

Discover the history of Bregenz and visit the most important baroque buildings of the city on this fascinating tour.

City tour Dornbirn

Dornbirn is the largest town in Vorarlberg and an important economic area in the region. The city life takes place around the market place with the parish church St. Martin.

Don't miss the disused Rüschwerke water turbine company in the city park with inatura, a unique interactive natural history museum.

A cable car takes you up to the popular local mountain Karren where you can enjoy an innovative 12 meter long viewing platform which provides spectacular panoramic views over Dornbirn.

City tour Lindau

Lindau is a city worth seeing on the German shore of Lake Constance. The harbour with its beautiful entrance and the attractive lakeside promenade invites you to linger. The 35 meter high lighthouse with its 139 steps leads to a platform with a view of Vorarlberg, the Rhine delta and the old town of Lindau.

Enjoy a fascinating walk through the winding streets of the island’s medieval town. The representative Old Town Hall shows the history of the town.
